MR, Sounds like you are suggesting we sign the famous player Hole In Zone.....

Damn, is that a statement by a team, or what? We don't need player X--we'll leave his spot open. It also says to the NFL, we'll beat you with 52, not 53. Kind of like leaving a seat for Elijah at seder dinners. Except, as I understand it, that's to welcome him, and not to say "we don't freakin' need you."

Wait, this is sounding familiar... didn't an NFL team field just 11 guys for one play a couple years ago, either to remember a dead teammate (Tillman?) or a sign of respect for a death? (And didn't the opponents not get the memo and instead they scored or at least played aggressively rather than kneel for the one play as a show of solidarity...? Am I living in fantasy-land?) - Bob M

Maybe we could trade Simpson... for a real player.

If it's for performance I'm happy the Colts are scared to cut anybody if they aren't pulling their weight.

While we are cutting people for performance, can I get a Chad Simpson? The spot could be used to sign someone else, or it could be left empty. Either way. - MR

Only because Oester has been a supporter of Big Ed and has been quite vocal with his opinion that Johnson was a vital cog to the defense. So you would think if there was more to the story, he would be the first one clamoring for it. Instead he is taking the high road and admitting he was wrong, and that Caldwell speaks the truth.

Also, I think sometimes Poor Phil gets so frustrated with the Colts lack of communication with the local media, that he can't help but think they are hiding something. (And I can't say that I blame him, only that I hope he is wrong this time.) - Doug England

Pretty much agree. If you look back somewhere after the Dolphin game I mentioned that he looked slow (not as quick)and heavy. Plus, maybe Teerlink thinks Moala can now benefit from the reps and be a decent force by the playoffs. - Merr
