The book on Ugoh was always

A hell of a run blocker and an adequate pass blocker. The thing that had him above CJ was that CJ used to be a tremendously terrible pass blocker. His issues with getting dinged a lot didn't help his growth.

I'm pretty sure Pollak needs to go next, with TU booting Diem out. - Anonguy

Any Ugoh commentary?

Looking for you guys to give some unbiased commentary/review on Ugoh's performance. I know we're all surprised to be jonesing for CJ to get back, but I thought I saw Ugoh involved in some decent run blocking last night. No? - m@

Then again, Lacey Underalls got beat badly and was bailed out by a horrible throw from Collins. - Anonguy

It's not so much the 5-yard cushions on 3rd and 6... it's the 8-yard cushions.

Hey, that Lacey Underalls kid (tip of the hat to Caddycshack) is alright. - Bob M

My sentiments exactly. Fisher is the captain at the helm, telling the orchestra, led by Collins, to keep playing as the ship sank. - waleon

"We were in man-to-man coverage, it was third-and-short and I knew they had to go to the sticks,'' Jennings said. "They had been curling up on me at the sticks the last couple of games and I knew they were just trying to get a first down."

The day Tim Jennings figured it out? It is third and 6... don't give him 5 yards of cushion. - DemondSanders

Manning played perhaps his best game of '09 when you factor in the intense pressure. He didn't have a chance to look downfield most of the game, but he still manufactured first downs. - DemondSanders

I have the feeling the bad look from the line was because they hadn't played with Ugoh and had just started getting used to CJ. Add in familiarity between divisional opponents and you have a recipe for a somewhat disasterous night. - Anonguy

A fun night in general

Though sometime late in the 1st quarter I was getting that old 2008 churning gut feel with the OL giving 18 absolutely NO time. With those green DBs and our receivers, you'd think he'd have 400 yards by the 45 minute mark (also known as Sorgi Time). But no, the OL forced Manning to hit the short routes often. Still, 18 was awesome.

Concerns: CJ's health, Ugoh's consistency, the run game, Wayne's dropped TD (Dude! If Manning gets to 49 or 50 this year, the fact that he does NOT get the new record is all your fault!) 18 hurt his knee a bit? If 18 is still 18, those concerns are minor in the regular season, but bigger inthe post-season.

Non-Concerns: Tenn has been good vs the run all year, so I guess we were okay. Our D held Tenn to their lowest yardage total, and no TDs; if not for the misbegotten punt that led to an easy 3, also their lowest point total. VY. 93 has sacks in 5 straight--would he be the first ever to get 16 consecutive games in one season? Liked the stat that noted he has 13.5 in last 12 games. Is it too late to go to Julius Peppers's house and steal his freakin' DROY award, bash him on the head with it, and then melt it? Theoretically, that is.... Great tackling and hitting tonight. Manning didn't whine for the roughing calls like someone else I could name.

Other items: Denver appears to be for real. Pitt does not. Brady has Welker back. Cinn and Balt? Jury's still out on them. I'd prefer a playoff game in the Luke than at XYZ at Mile High.

God, the Rams look pathetic. And just when you think the Jags might be decent (Garrard HAS looked pretty good lately) the semi-hapless Seahawks dismantle them bit by bit on as pretty a football day as you'll ever see. Andre Johnson and Brandon Marshall are beasts--fun to watch. So long as it's against someone else. Enjoy the bye week. - Bob M

I'm glad to have this one in the bag. Given circumstances I expected this to be a rougher game. In fact, as desperate as the Titans had to be, I expected Fisher to delve in to the unusual like he did in a game against the Colts years back.
I expected the wildcat. Hell, I expected unicycles, clown cars, and bearded ladies juggling members of the lollypop guild in the backfield.
