Don't get me wrong - I will be happy for Edge to get into the Top 10, and will cheer for him if he does it on Sunday. - LovinBlue

"My dream scenario for Sunday includes a 30-3 lead late in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks take over at the 20, and Edge gets a carry. The Colts defenders all just step aside and let him roll 80 yards for the score."

I actually wouldn't support this, and I suspect Edge wouldn't as well. I assume that competitors want to think each of their yards is earned, not surrendered. - LovinBlue

I would totally support this. I don't think there's anyone in Colts Land that holds a grudge against Edge James. In fact, I hope it happens, because the Colts are just that classy an organization. I'd extend the same courtesy to Stokely, were he in a similar situation. - Monkey Business

Last comment from me as you guys probably don't want to read any more of my Hawks homerism.

#6. The Bears did not have as much sucess running the ball as the 9ers. Maybe the bears are not as good at running as the 9ers. But there was a noticable difference in the D's performance with the return of #1 DT brandon Mebane from a calf injury. Saturday vs Mebane is the matchup I will be watching more so than Kerney Johnson. Of course that is after watching the best matchup on the field in pre snap Manning vs Tatupu. Kerney so far this year has been a dud not a stud. Mebane is much more of a force in pass rush game, not as dominate as AH, but colapses the pocket in a similar way. The backup DE's will have more impact than the starters. Tapp and Jackson, the backups at LDE and RDE, each have more sacks than the starters Kerney and Redding. Trust me, you will hear Mebane's name called by the announcers much more than Kerney. - Denver Hawk Fan

1) Of course 2005 was the season Manning SHOULD HAVE won the MVP but it went to a soon-to-be washed-up RB who happened to snag a lot of TDs.
3) The Edge 80 yard scenario is awesome, but will never happen. Not a dry eye in the house.
6) The Hawks bad rush D was gouged by (IIRC) an 80 yard run and a 72 yard run. Holy guacamole, Batman! That's not necessarily our style, unless Brown rips one. A series of 7-15 yarders totaling 180 combined would make me giddy, though.
7) Not a cloud of dust, but a cloud of find plastic grass particles and ground up rubber. VERY difficult to get out of your socks, BTW. But almost as resilient as a wrestling mat when walked on.
16) I too think you are being a little hard on the guys.
18) Sounds about right. - Bob M

I thought about going there, but I'm ready to get off CJ's case. You are right. He has to prove it this week, but I'm wiling to believe he will - DZ

The key matchup in this game is: Patrick Kearney vs. Charlie Johnson.

CJ has been solid but he's yet to face a top-flite DE. Kearney is absolutely a top talent. If CJ can hold the fort, the Colts run away with this one. If he gets whipped like a schoolchild, it suddenly gets a LOT closer. - ColtsHeadBen

Your right though Merr, Manning would of been able to exploit our starting CB's. Getting our #3 CB back this week and still without our #1 CB, it will be a big day for the Indy pass game. - Denver Hawk Fan

I tend to disagree with your idea about the Hawks beign confused on D this week. Let me rephrase that, if Tatupu returns this weekend, and all indications are that he will, there will be a lot less confusion than if his replacement, Hawthorne, was still in.

Payton is probably the best QB in the NFL at the pre snap game in making reads and adjustments. Tatupu is in the top 3 in in the NFL in my book when it comes to the same thing on the D side. The first big run play against the 9ers was on the first play that Tatupu was out from injury as an example of the difference one player can make. What ever the case, I look forward to watching the two players do the chessmatch thing all game.

To me, this game is the exact opposite of our first game against the Rams. There was nothing to gain and a lot to lose in that game. Everyone expects the Colts to win. There is nothing to lose in this game. I just hope the play calling reflects that. Enjoy the game Colts fans. - Denver Hawk Fan

I rarely say that because I know most NFL games are within 7 points. Seattle is even more depleted than we are. I think the loss of their veterans on defense will equal lots of confusion and Manning will exploit. Unless we significantly lose the turnover battle then there's no way Seattle wins this game. - Merr

I believe you are spot on that the SeaHawks will try to play keep away, and they actually could be pretty good at it. Still, with all the injuries, the Colts will win if they don't turn the ball over. (I actually like it when "the human touchback" takes a knee in the endzone, so he doesn't risk a fumble.)

I know saying no turnovers is the key to victory, is a Homer Simpson D'uh comment. But in a trap game like this one, it's the thing that scares me. No way Seattle outscores PM and the boys otherwise.

I'd say despised is way strong. I imagine the majority of Colts fans still have a slightly positive, or perhaps more likely, neutral feelings toward Mora. - DemondSanders

I mean he's despised now. At the time no one thought anything of a coach who had never won a playoff game. Now I think we all massively regret his tenure. Just taking the penalty in the Dolphins game would likely have saved us all a lot of grief. - DZ

"One of the least liked Colts coaches ever thanks to his horrible butchering of the 2000 playoff game."

I think most fans liked Mora. At the time fans were just happy for a couple winning seasons.

I'm not saying he had everyone's full confidence. But saying he is one of the least liked Colts coaches ignores several poor coaches in the 80s and 90s. - DemondSanders
