Rohn Stark: CLASSIC COLT (1984 - 1994)
04-07-2007 For many years the Colts were bad, but if not for Rohn Stark, they might have been even worse. Stark was the last of the Baltimore Colts to play in Indy and lasted a remarkable 13 seasons (11 in Indy). Stark had punted for more total yardage than anyone in NFL history when he retired. He was voted to four Pro Bowls as a Colt. Stark was a great punter because he could do both aspects of the job. He led the league in net average 4 times in his career, but in 1990 also lead the league with a ridiculous 24 punts inside the 20 yard line. 7 times in his career he managed to stick more than 20 punts inside the 20. He also was the holder on kicks. On a bad team, you had better have a good punter. Stark was it. He also spelled his name with an extra H. Three letters just weren’t enough to contain his ghreatness.
