Ken Dilger: CLASSIC COLT (1995 - 2001)
04-11-2007 Fans always love tight ends, because they break tackles and run over smaller safeties and corners. Ken Dilger was no exception during his days in Indianapolis. Whenever Kenny would pick up a first down or a make a big catch, the PA announcer would give an extra growl at the end of his “Ken Dilgerrrrrrr.” Dilger never quite reproduced his stellar rookie season when he posted 42 catches for 635 yards and 4 tds. He would later win a Super Bowl ring as a member of the Tampa Bay Bucs. A native of Mariah Hills, IN, Dilger was a true Hoosier, and the fans loved him for it. He had good speed, and a penchant for breaking tackles. A quarterback in high school, he even threw a touchdown pass to #88. He made the Pro Bowl following the 2001 season, but was released by the Colts soon afterwards. Teaming up with Marcus Pollard, Dilger gave a young Peyton Manning an excellent target during his early years in Indy. True Colts fans will never forget this Classic Colt leaping over defenders and garnering a DILGERRRRRRR from the fans at RCA. Have a favorite Kenny Dilger memory?
