Mike Chappell dutifully takes questions from readers each week.  One reader wants to know if a trade for Luck is in the cards:

ANSWER: It’s certainly possible. The problem would be the cost. We’ve been discussing the value of the No. 1 overall pick in the event the Colts had it and decided to auction it to the highest bidder. What would it bring? Three No. 1s, a couple of No. 2s and a bit more? Maybe. I’m not certain it would cost that much for the Colts to move up one spot because the Rams would be getting the Colts’ No. 2 overall pick in any deal. But it still would be expensive. It would all depend on how committed the Colts would be to getting Luck. If they believe he’s the next Peyton Manning, maybe they pay whatever it takes in terms of draft picks. But doing that would limit the team’s ability to adequately build the team around him. That scenario will create a ton of lively debate. And lively debate makes the offseason go around.
